Title IX Services

Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 protects people from discrimination based on sex in education programs or activities which receive Federal financial assistance. Title IX states, ‘no person in the United States shall on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subject to discrimination under any educational programs or activity receiving federal financial assistance.’”

Pregnancy and Parenting

Federal law, as informed by and explained in Title IX, prevents institutions from discriminating against students who are pregnant or parenting.

For the safety of the mother and child, prenatal medical services are not provided in the Henry Wise Wellness Center. The student who is expecting, is encouraged to consult with her prenatal provider, concerning regular check-ups and medications.
