  • Workday will introduce a new vocabulary, replacing a number of our existing terms. Please refer to our Commonly Used Terms guide.


  • You will receive notifications in Workday when an action is required. These notifications will appear in your Workday My Tasks. Additionally, Workday will send you email notifications. Workday users can manage their email notification preferences by following these steps:

    1. Click on your Profile icon or picture in the top right corner of your Workday homepage.
    2. Select My Account.
    3. Select Change Preferences.
    4. Scroll down to the Channel section, where there are options that govern your EmailMobile Push Notifications, and Pop-up Notifications.
    5. For each notification type listed, select the option you prefer. Your options are:
      • Daily: Workday will send a single email message each day to alert you to the Workday Inbox messages and Notifications that have come in on this topic.
      • Immediately: You will be emailed as soon as this notification type becomes available in Workday.
      • Mute: Please do not select this option.

  • Workday has a built-in approval process for various tasks. Depending on the nature of the task, your request is sent to your manager or the relevant department for approval.

  • Data in Workday is updated in real-time. Once a transaction is completed, it is immediately reflected in the system.

  • Workday infrastructure, policies, and procedures ensure your data is secure and protected. Security threats and risks are mitigated through strong internal controls and a comprehensive security program. Workday regularly passes rigorous third-party compliance audits.
